Peter’s Story

“Working with Pathway has helped me through the dark bits and has given me a purpose…”
I became homeless in 2013 after my landlord verbally and physically abused my girlfriend who is 20 years younger than me and black. My landlord thought she was a prostitute. When I confronted him he abused me and gave me notice to quit. 2 days later my car was written off by a lorry. This meant I couldn’t get to work as a plumber. I then run out of money and luck.
I was only on the street for a short time and then spent 14 months in a hostel. I now live in supported housing where the next step is a flat of my own. Working with Pathway has helped me through the dark bits and has given me a purpose. My support worker is very friendly and helpful and I know she will find me the right place.
